- Investigated Culvert Mansion, which turned out to be a hybrid post-modern house and laboratory
- Found Liz in the depths of the storage basement under the laboratory
- Returned to the catwalk between the laboratory tower and the house’s second story to come face to face with the Eveningstar Horror
- A gangling tripod with two hind legs like that of a bird, only longer, and one front leg with eight pointed clawed fingers forming a fan
- Has a semi-translucent jelly-like tissue that is in between a dark gunmetal grey and the night sky
- Has two pointed arcs that could constitute as wings but also could pass as tentacles extending from its back
- The top of its torso ends in a flapping construct that looks like an inside out umbrella with several hooked claw-like fangs dispersed along its rim
- The sack-like jaw is almost completely transparent except for the very outer edge, which slowly bleeds to an opaque, black, oily consistency
- It lets out low hums, similar to a whale’s call, followed by horrible, blood-curling screeches
- Jack met the party on the catwalk, and the 5 of them faced the Horror, eventually rendering it lifeless
Once the Horror had been dispatched, Jack & Liz offered the three adventurers gratitude for reuniting them and embraced each other once more. Jack handed the treasure hunter a silver ring, a token he called the ring of Despiron, along with a map of his town and the location Liz and he call home. He then told them that should the three need to find him after their parting, they can use the ring to transport to his realm.
After this short exchange, the two returned to the basement where Liz’ experiments were being performed. Jack told the three that a man of grey spoke to him on his journey and told him to pass on knowledge of the Six Realms, so he asked them to join him. Jack took an odd board on the wall and drew up a map with a ring of six circles around a central large circle. He labeled each of the six along with the center, drew up lines and jotted out all variety of notes, and told the three of his knowledge of the Six Realms. He continued into what he called a “Basic Theory of Realm Transversal Physics”, of which both Jack and Liz claimed they were experts in.
Unfortunately, much of what Jack said was lost to the three, as they had a hard time understanding much of it. He kept forgetting that they did not have a grounding in what he kept calling “Science”, so he’d make sweeping statements that would amount to very little. One thing that was made clear enough though was that the adventurers “realm”, as the term had been coined, enveloped the known planes of the Veldespace, Shadowfell, and Feywild, and likely any other place they had heard of in books, scholarly discussions, and other sources of knowledge. Which meant these other five realms existed outside their known cosmology. And it seemed that without proper understanding, the only way to cross between realms were rings like the one given them by Jack, or that odd seventh place that existed between all things as Jack would say, the place he called the “Field of Mirrors”.
Following Jack’s long grueling lecture, Liz decided to pipe in and give the three a break, offering to explain their story, and of how their realm was lost to greed and perfection, to a point at which most of its citizens had become crazed with desire. Liz accounted how they were part of a small task force put together by their government to seek out an answer to the unrelenting madness, “The Itch” as it was known back in their land, Cyndrea. Upon doing so, they found that there were unexplained particles that had increased in great number in recent years which could not be accounted for in their known universe, another odd statement that only the Eladrin grasped to understand. With this finding, she said, they went looking for where they could have come from.
And from this, they discovered Immultora, the Realm of the Dianom, as the inhabitants of the other realm called it. They built a device that allowed them to communicate freely with the other Realm, and after many correspondences back and forth, they were asked to visit Immultora by the Host of Orders, an institution of Immultora consisting of billions of beings whose job it is to control the order of the realms, or so the others had said. Liz and Jack led a team of scientists and researchers to Immultora, and while there uncovered extensive texts with knowledge on the Dianom, as they called themselves, and the Six Realms. They found many references to Despiron, which they came to understand was their own world, and references to the other two mortal realms, of which this realm they are in was called Deskarra and another was called Saleskriit.
Upon their return to Cyndrea they tried to build a machine that would allow them to cross over to other realms, much in the way the Dianom do so. They did so, but in the early stages of trials, they miscalculated something and were flung into Deskarra, separated from each other by hundreds of miles. Liz awoke on the shore of Marsember, the small coastal village north of the capital of Farkyth. Jack was dropped in the middle of a large courtyard in Dunninberg of the Obsidian Coast. Somehow both had strong psionic abilities they found shortly after arriving, and with these abilities, they could feel a pull towards each other, faint, but noticeable. Liz travelled north through Corzail to Cyrodil, while Jack travelled south east to Dansmere. Liz would have turned south, if not for a story she heard in Corzail about an odd man in a town, a Dr. Culvert they called him, though they said he was no sensible physician, but rather a crackpot wizard dealing in very odd magic. Jack continued north, searching town by town for Liz, narrowly missing her on her slow journey north.
At last, Liz came upon the Culvert Mansion and began scrounging through old equipment and a few boxes of notes left behind by Dr. Culvert. Dr. Culvert, it turns out according to his journals, was student of age 22 studying mathematics and biology at a university when he was accidentally pulled into this realm. Here he met a woman gifted in the arts, and set to applying his knowledge of his world in the fields of magical arts his beloved new so well. After a time he found the schools of magic in Farkyth dismissed his theories and practices as barbarism, and so the two moved to this small town and he built a mansion to act as his own laboratory.
Liz used his notes and equipment to try building mechanisms to return her to Cyndrea. And after several weeks of progress, she was contacted by a man named Deskeran, and was told she was needed to help three souls as they walked a perilous path. He helped bridge a temporary link between her and Jack, to help them reunite, and told her to safe gaurd three travelers on their journey until Jack met up with her. But, an ominous force settled on the town, and Liz saw an abomination from the realm of the Far, Ukltreadnst, walk into this realm on the streets of Eveningstar. She tried to fight the evil presence here and to reach the three adventurers in their dreams, but the presence was far stronger than she was, and bent her to its own will. Lost, scared, and alone, the only thing she could think to do was hide in the dark depths of this mansion.
As Liz wrapped up her story, the two looked into each others eyes and knew their time to return home had come. They bid the three farewell, and Liz flipped on some switches on odd looking contraptions. In a flash, the two of them, standing in the center of the room locked in each others arms, disappeared, and the three adventurers were left alone in the dark bowels of an odd laboratory.
